This is a textured version of the fabric that was originally used as an outer layer in the Extreme Cold Weather System jackets and pants.  That is, while the fabric is similar to a traditional  500 denier nylon, it is softer to the touch and more comfortable.

The mil spec is GL/PD 06/05 T/2
