Calendering is a finishing process used on ripstop nylon fabrics where the fabric is passed under rollers at high temperatures and pressures. This fuses the individual nylon yards together and makes the fabric  more repellent and resistant to down and other fine filaments from poking through. 

This Made in USA fabric is appropriate for a variety of uses including tarps, bags,tents, linings, camping gear and utility bags.
